Movida CIMA: Equipping the Church to Care for the Vulnerable

We're excited to share that we just returned from the Movida CIMA conference in Cusco!

Movida is a Christian organization with a clear mission: to inspire young people to deepen their personal relationships with Jesus by discovering and using their gifts and talents to serve their local churches and advance world missions. Being invited to participate in this missions conference was a real privilege.

Over the course of the week, high school and university students — and adults — came together to learn about missions and what it means to serve in their local communities, across their country, and around the world. The passion and sense of purpose among the participants made for a rich and meaningful time together.

Paths of Hope had the opportunity to lead two sessions: "The Role of the Church in Caring for the Vulnerable" and "Trauma Informed Care in the Church." It was encouraging to share these topics with an audience eager to put their faith into action.

Beyond the sessions, we were glad to connect with several participants who expressed interest in getting more involved in our mentoring initiatives in Lima and Cusco. Seeing that desire to serve take shape in others is a good reminder of why this work matters.

We are grateful to Movida for the opportunity to be part of this conference, and we look forward to seeing how these new connections grow in the months ahead.
